Laura is a CA (SA), qualified with Deloitte in 2006, and holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from the University of Johannesburg (previously Rand Afrikaans University). With 20 years of experience, she brings extensive knowledge covering group financial reporting, consolidations and corporate transactions, developed in part in a publicly listed environment during her time at the JSE listed UCS Group which she joined in 2007.

 

Laura was extensively involved in the transaction whereby the greater part of the UCS Group assets were sold to Business Connection in 2011 as well as the subsequent delisting of the Company from the JSE later that year, when the company name changed to Capital Eye Investments. She was also extensively involved in Project Railroad, the 2021 recapitalisation of Crossfin, a Fintech group previously held by Capital Eye Investments. 

 

With her significant experience with the Crossfin portfolio, Laura plays a key role in the maintenance of the integrity of the financial information. She led the implementation of the Group’s consolidation software and streamlined the reporting across the Group to an institutional standard that withstands diligence. She is responsible for the monthly and financial year-end reporting process, working closely with the external auditors and reports to the Crossfin Audit Committee. Laura is renowned for her attention to detail and her unwavering commitment to the needs of the Crossfin portfolio.

 

Laura was appointed as the Crossfin Group Finance Executive in March 2023 and subsequently appointed to the Crossfin Board as an Executive Director in March 2025.
