In 1994 Anton joined Retail Automation where he was promoted to Managing Director responsible for the development and deployment of EPOS solutions to the South African retail market. This experience provided Anton with a sound understanding of operating a private business end to end and the importance of governance and cash flow management.

 

After 7 years at Retail Automation, Anton joined MWEB Business where he managed the Application Services Division. He was a pioneer in the development of eCommerce solutions including SafeShop (a leading South African eCommerce gateway and platform) and founded and chaired the South African Forum of eTailers. Anton left MWEB and joined the Platinum Group as their COO responsible for 56 fashion retail outlets providing him with deep insights into all facets of the retail industry. Anton graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science Degree (BBusSc) majoring in Marketing and Economics (Hons).

Anton is a Co-founder, Director and Chief Exponential Officer at Crossfin Holdings with more than 25 years of technology, retail, eCommerce and M&A experience in entrepreneurial and corporate entities with a specific focus on fintech, payments, strategy and operations. His experience enables him to provide high quality strategic and operational solutions to both business development and value creation.

 

Prior to co-founding Crossfin, Anton joined the UCS Group, renamed Capital Eye Investments, in April of 2009 and was primarily responsible for Capital Eye’s Fintech portfolio. His deal structuring capabilities together with his strong understanding of technology and retail has seen him lead a number of transactions including wiGroup (now YOYO), iKhokha and Innervation Rewards (was Edenred SA). Anton was also responsible for structuring and implementing the merger of four complementary investee Companies into Innervation Pan African Payments, which resulted in value uplift through leveraging economies of scale from an operational and executive capacity perspective as well as the broadening of the product portfolio which led to an expanded customer reach and subsequent enterprise deal flow. This was consolidated alongside other complementary payments assets to form Adumo following the acquisition of Sureswipe alongside co-investment partner, APIS.

 

Anton has capabilities across the technology value chain which enables him to actively partner with management of the investment companies to ensure they are delivering value propositions to customer segments, relationships and channel. His extensive experience in regulated and unregulated financial services, payment and switching allows him to provide valuable support to the investment companies thereby ensuring they provide technology solutions that support and enable the strategies of existing clients, which include large retail and financial services (banks and insurers) enterprises. His established industry relationships enable him to source and develop deal flow.
